Voltairine de Cleyre ( 1866- 1912) embraced anarchism when she was about 19. She was one of the most prolific writers and lecturers on anarchism of her time.

Joseph Jacob Cohen (1878-1953) was a prominent American anarchist. In the 1930s, he helped to found and run the Sunrise anarchist farming colony in Alicia, Michigan, about which he wrote in In Quest of Heaven. He isĀ  also the author of History of the Jewish Anarchist Movement.
