Administrative/Biographical History
Founded in New York in 1900 by Jews with an interest in supporting Jewish life in Israel. The society supported members financially in times of illness or distress as well as contributing to charitable causes, particularly those focusing their efforts on Israel. It also subsidized burial at the Beth Israel, Mount Lebanon, and Beth David cemeteries.
