Administrative/Biographical History
Founded in New York on December 27, 1892, by immigrants from Minsk, in the Russian Empire. Provided free loan fund and benefits to sick and members in distress. Covered funeral expenses. Donated to numerous Jewish causes and organizations including the United Jewish Appeal, the NY Guild for Jewish Blind, and the Albert Newmark Old Age Fund. Functioned as a burial society. Society used the Washington, Mt. Hebron, and Mt. Lebanon cemeteries in Brooklyn and Queens, NY.
