Administrative/Biographical History
Founded by Jacob Schaefer and Mendl Shein in 1925 for the purpose of fostering Yiddish choirs. It maintained choirs in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, Washington, Patterson, Newark, and Brighton. Was associated with the YKUF (Yidisher kultur farband). Published a number of Yiddish song books. Ceased its activities in the 1980s.
