Formed in New York in 1918 by immigrants from Krivoye Ozero, Ukraine to send a *landsman* to California for tuberculosis treatment.  Later expanded activities to include mutual aid for members.  Between the two world wars conducted extensive relief and refugee relocation work. In addition, the society supported a farm established by Krivozer Jews on land alloted by the Soviet government.  Recent activities include aid to institutions in Israel.  Affiliated groups were: Krivozer Beneficial Association of Philadelphia; Independent Krivozer  Ladies Auxiliary (established 1927); committees in Chicago, Boston, Lawrence (Massachusetts), St. Paul (Minnesota), Canada.
