Pen name of Shaike Frydman. Jewish historian, archivist, research associate at the YIVO Institute from 1945 to 1978. Szajkowski wrote on a wide variety of topics in Jewish history, concentrating on the history of French Jewry, Jewish immigration movements and the Holocaust period. Born in Zareby Koscielne, Lomza district, Poland. In 1927 immigrated to France. Settled in the U.S. in 1941.
