Administrative/Biographical History
German journalist. General Secretary of the Deutsche Liga fur Menschenrechte (German League for Human Rights) in Berlin in 1926. Established and directed the Demokratische Fluchtlingsfursorge Prag (Democratic Refugee Relief). After World War II Grossman became a recognized spokesman on problems concerning Jewish refugees including German restitution and compensation. Wrote a number of works relating to the Jewish refugee problem. In 1938 moved from Germany to Paris and in 1939 settled in New York.
