Pseudonym of Joseph Perelman.  Russian and Yiddish playwright and writer.  Published stories, serials, sketches, and many plays.  Most of the plays were written in Russian.  Many were adapted to the Yiddish theater and some were translated into Polish, Hebrew and German.  He contributed to *Der tog* (N.Y.), *Kundes* (N.Y.).  His memoirs *Vos ich gedenk*, N.Y., 1943-1944 were first published in serial form in the *Jewish Daily Forward* (N.Y.).
