Administrative/Biographical History
Tsemakh Kopelson (1869, Vilna - 1933, Moscow) was one of the pioneers of the Bund. In 1895, he emigrated from Russia and lived in France and Switzerland (in Bern and Geneva). He was a member of the Foreign Committee of the Bund from 1900-1905, and took part in a number of Bund congresses and conferences. In 1905, he returned to Russia, and from 1908-1923 lived in New York. In 1923, he returned to Russia (then the USSR). Among the aliases he used were Timofei, Grishin, and Polyakevitch.
