Founded in New York in 1898, by immigrants from Medzhibozh (Medzibezh, Medzibozh, Mezhibezh, Miedzyboz, Smiedzyborz), Ukraine. Alternately known as Megibozh Progressive Solidarity Society and Megibosh Progressive Solidarity Society. Society provided sick and death benefits. Maintained a cemetery plot. Supported an old age home and local institutions. Functioned as a burial society. Society used the Montefiore, Mt. Zion, Beth David, and Wellwood cemeteries in Queens and Long Island, NY.
