Administrative/Biographical History
Abraham Joel Tobias (1913-1996) was a painter and muralist. He studied in New York City at Cooper Union and the Art Students League in the early 1930's. He created the concept of shaped canvas and exhibited it in 1935 at the Delphic Studios. He pioneered the use of resins in the 1940's. His murals are in several public spaces throughout the U.S
