Administrative/Biographical History
Education Director of the Workmen's Circle from 1966 to 1990. From 1991, managing editor of the *Forverts*. Teacher in the Yiddish school system. Active in Yiddish cultural and educational organizations such as the Workmen's Circle, Congress for Jewish Culture, Forward Association, WEVD. Hosted radio programs of the Workmen's Circle on WEVD. Producer and narrator of several Yiddish text and music recordings. Editor, *Kultur un Lebn*, and *Kinder-tsaytung*. Co-editor of weekly, later bi-weekly column *In der velt fun yidish*, both in the *Forverts*. Co-editor of *Zukunft*. Together with his wife, Eleanor Gordon Mlotek, edited *Perl fun der yidisher poezye* (Tel Aviv, 1974) and compiled *Pearls of Yiddish Song*. Author of Yiddish textbook, *Yidishe kinder*, *Alef* (1971). Journalist for the Warsaw Yiddish newspaper *Di Folkstsaytung*. Born in Proszowice, Poland. Lived in Warsaw. From 1941-1945, lived in Shanghai. Settled in the U.S.
