Administrative/Biographical History
Born in Vilna in 1904. Had a traditional Jewish education. Spent 1929-1932 and 1948-1955 in Soviet labor camps. Settled in Leningrad in 1932. Started writing in Yiddish, Hebrew, and Russian during his youth. His book, "Jews: Heroes of the Great Fatherland War" (Forword by Ilya Ehrenburg) was confiscated when he was arrested for the third time in 1938. Published several collections of aphorisms in Russian. Contributor to Sovietish Heimland. Died in 1970
