Jewish journalist and social worker. Studied in Russian universities. Worked for the Jewish Colonization Association and for ORT, 1924-1976. Wrote articles in Yiddish, Russian, and also in Danish. Edited a number of periodicals, including *Der yidisher emigrant*, *Parizer haynt*, *Zibn teg*. Was correspondent for *Der tog* (New York) and *Haynt* (Warsaw). Wrote several books on Jewish topics. Born in the Caucasus. Lived in Paris and Geneva. Died in Geneva.
