Administrative/Biographical History
Harry Lang (1888-1970), Yiddish writer and journalist, was active in the labor and socialist movements. Contributed to the *Zukunft*, *Yidisher kemfer*, *Der veker*, *Jewish Daily Forward*. In the 1920s and 1930s travelled to Eastern Europe, the Soviet Union and Palestine and published a series of articles about the Jewish communities there. Wrote plays for the Yiddish stage. Born in Skuodas, Lithuania. Immigrated to the U.S. in 1904. Lucy Robbins Lang was Harry Lang's wife, wrote an extensive autobiography and co-authored several Yiddish plays with her husband. Was active in labor and socialist organizations.
