Administrative/Biographical History
Teacher, historian, member of the YIVO staff in New York. Taught in Yiddish schools in Warsaw before World War II. During the Holocaust period, worked in the schools of the Warsaw Ghetto and participated in the underground Oneg Shabat Archives. After the war, worked for the Jewish Historical Commission in Lodz, Poland. Born in Brest-Litovsk (Pol. Brzesc Litewski). Immigrated to France in 1949. Settled in the U.S. in 1956.
