Administrative/Biographical History
Yiddish writer. Active in the Bund party in Latvia as well as in municipal politics in Daugavpils (Dvinsk) after 1920. Contributed to and edited Russian and Yiddish periodicals such as *Dvinskoye ekho* (Dvinsk), *Dos folk* (Riga), *Frimorgn* (Riga), *Unzer vort* (Riga), *Naye tsayt* (Riga), *Folkstsaytung* (Warsaw), *Der veker* (New York), *Zukunft* (New York), *Gerekhtikeit* (New York), *Der fraynd* (New York), *Kultur un dertsiung* (New York). Secretary (from 1938) of the Jewish Socialist Verband in America. Was on the executive boards of the Forward Association, the Jewish Labor Committee and the Congress for Jewish Culture.
