Administrative/Biographical History
Organized in New York in 1914 to help needy *landslayt* from Czestochowa, Poland and to create jobs for immigrants. Formally named the United Czenstochower Relief Committee in 1921. Under the leadership of labor leader Rafal Federman, Relief president, the committee located and supported surviving *landslayt* scattered worldwide after World War II and aided them in searching for relatives. Published two memorial books. Merged with the Chenstochauer Young Men, Inc. Thirteen *landsmanshaftn* from the provinces of Kielce and Lodz worked together with the Relief Committee.
