Administrative/Biographical History
Founded in New York in 1913 by immigrants from Skierniewice, Poland. Organized the Skierniewicer Relief Committee for aid to the home town during World War I. Established the Skierniewicer Patronat in the 1930s to free political prisoners in Skierniewice. In 1937, the Relief Committee and the Patronat joined to form the United Relief Committee for Skierniewice. Established a Gmilas Khesed Kase (interest free loan fund) in 1955 for *landslayt* in Israel.
