Israel Horowitz was the author of an anthology of Yiddish and Hebrew proverbs. His brother, Haim A. Horowitz was a Yiddish writer whose pen name was Chaim Vital. Haim A. Horowitz wrote for *Literarishe bleter*, *Dos yidishe folk*, *Jewish Daily Forward*. Born in Smorgon, district of Vilna. Lived in Palestine, Bulgaria, Sweden, Poland. Immigrated to the U.S. in 1941.
