Yiddish and Hebrew writer, bibliographer, lexicographer, journalist. Editor of the *Leksikon fun der nayer yidisher literatur* (Biographical Dictionary of Modern Yiddish Literature) and of the *Day-Morning Journal*. Member, Board of Directors of the YIVO Institute. Contributed to many periodicals, such as *Yiddishes Tageblatt*, *Zukunft*, *Kundes*, *Der tog*, *Jewish Daily Forward*. Born in Mosty Wielkie, Poland. Immigrated to the U.S. in 1920.
