Brief Description: *HUNGARY* 1900s-1930s. Album of newspaper clippings from the French press about the Tiszaeszlar blood libel case, 1882-1883. An issue of the wekly Egyenloseg, July 1888. Original documents of the Jewish community of Tata-Tovaros, 1860s- ca. 1900, including by-laws of the of the hevrah kadisha (burial society), correspondence with Rabbi Mark Handler. Bound publications by Jewish prisoners of war in 1916. Postcards of illustrations depicting antisemitism. Holocaust period materials include manuscripts of original poems in Hungarian about Holocaust experiences by Viola Horvath; album of poems by Hungarian Jewish poets who lived through the Holocaust period, translated in English, with biographical notes about each poet; photocopy of memoirs about Kassa (Kosice) during the Holocaust period; ration tokens used in concentration camps.  Microfilms of documents prepared for the Magyarorszagi Izraelitak Orszagos Irodaja, 180 reels:filmed documents were selected from various state and municipal archives in Hungary and relate to the Jewish experience during the World War II period. Post-war period materials include: bound selection of documents from the trial proceedings Finta v. CTV et al., Supreme Court of Ontario, 1983-1986; selection of court proceedings of of Belton v. World Federation of Hungarian Jews.
