Administrative/Biographical History
Born in 1903 in Kolno near Lomza. Started performing with Yiddish theatrical troupes in 1915. Settled in New York in 1921. Performed with Yiddish art theater groups, especially the Artef (1931-37). Directed Yiddish plays and operettas on the radio. Did recitations of Yiddish poetry, and did some work in English. Lived and worked at various times in Los Angeles, Detroit, Montreal, Pittsburgh, and Milwaukee. Wrote playlets for "Boiberik" and "Kinderland" summer camps. Also studied art and exhibited his painting and sculptures. Died in 1970 in Teaneck, New Jersey
