Artist.  Studied lithography in Odessa.  Continued studies in art schools in Germany, France, Switzerland, and Italy. Worked for Yiddish newspapers as a cartoonist, especially for *Der groiser kundes* (N.Y.).  Wrote articles on art and the theater in *Tsayt-gayst*, *Freie Arbeiter Stimme*, *Zukunft*, *Dos Naye lebn*,(N.Y.). Published albums of his art works, including a series of engravings based on the tractate *Pirke avot* (Ethics of the Fathers), 1940.  Born in Nogaisk, Russia. Immigrated to the U.S. in 1904.  Died in New York.
