Administrative/Biographical History
Established in 1916 to unite relief work of Proskurover *landsmanshaftn* on behalf of war victims in Proskurov, Ukraine. Sent delegates to town after pogrom in 1920. Published memorial book on pogrom victims, 1924. Reestablished in 1939 to work with the United Jewish Appeal to support Palestine. Affiliate organizations were: Proskurover Zion Congregation K.U.V.; Proskurov-Yarmolinitzer Br. 355, W.C.; New Nook Association; Independent Proskurover Society, Inc. and Sisterhood; First Proskurover Young Men's Progressive Association; Ladies Auxiliary of the First Proskurover; Proskurover Ladies Society; Evans Family Circle.
