The Vaad Hayeshivot, or Council of Yeshivot, was an organization founded in 1924 at a rabbinical convention in Grodno under the sponsorship of the Chofetz Chaim,  Rabbi Israel Meir Hakohen Kagan, and Rabbi Chaim Oyzer Grodzienski of Vilna.  The Council provided financial and spiritual assistance to a network of 70 yeshivot in the five Eastern provinces of Poland, namely, Bialystok, Nowogrodek, Polesie, Vilna and Vohlynia.  The Council's official organ, *Dos vort*, appeared weekly from 1924-1939. The Vaad Hayeshivot was active until 1940.
